My Faith |
||
|
My faith is the reason for my work. I want my values to reflect God's thoughts and God's ways. My focus, I want to be heavenward. I am conscious that eternity looms beyond the grave. My life is not all there is. I don't need to grab all the gusto, toys, money and pleasure that I can. I don't want to be self-centred and pleasure oriented. I believe in God. So I want to be spreading the word about His love and His justice. I don't want to circle my wagon, protect myself and hide the light of the Gospel under a bushel. I want my life and my work to show that I know God. My children, neighbours relatives and friends must see God's presence in me and around me. God does exist and He wants to have a vital, growing relationship with us through Jesus the Christ, His Son. I trust Christ, believe God and live for Him. In October of last year a truth that I had known in my head all the time, became a tangible reality in my flesh and my heart. God waits for us to seek Him with all our heart. The first time the weight of the realization dropped into me, I was just blown away! I had the experience of waking up at 4 a m every day for three weeks, under some unusual circumstances, to spend time with God. At the end of the three weeks, I was hooked. Now,every detail of each step I take, every thought, every action, God spells out to me, when I wake up at 4 and wait upon Him. The things the Holy Spirit tells me are not limited to a particular topic - it concerns practical things, social things, food, plans for holidays, people and nations. Sometimes I go back to sleep. Sometimes I am too excited. God wants every one of us to have this time with Him. |
||
| 4 a m is the beginning of the fourth watch. Now I know what the psalmist means in
Psalms 130, when he says, I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord, more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. God is amazing. These words have become part of my flesh. That is the only way I can describe it. |

| Song of Solomon 5:2 I slept, but my heart was awake. Hark! my beloved is knocking. "Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my perfect one; ..................... I arose to open to my beloved, and my hands dripped with myrrh, .................................. I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had turned and gone. |

3. It is not biblical to "name your seed" in an offering. Hagin was
horrified by this practice, which was popularized in faith
conferences during the 1980s. Faith preachers sometimes tell
donors that when they give in an offering they should claim a
specific benefit to get a blessing in return. Hagin rejected this idea
and said that focusing on what you are going to receive "corrupts
the very attitude of our giving nature." ~J. Lee Grady is editor of Charisma. The Midas Touch is available |

| God waits for us. If we miss the opportunity, it might be too late. My day becomes exciting, when God's plans become my plans. I also see that there is no rule that says that I need to make up for the lack of sleep. My body can be 'reconditioned' to expect less hours of sleep and be none the worse for it. Do continue to visit. I hope to share new things every fortnight. |
